129 x 78 mm. A view looking past the flag-draped jetty towards the liner in which Bell arrived in Roseau for his 1912 visit. A copy of this print, extracted from an unidentified newspaper is also pasted into Bell's scrapbook, and the photograph the attributed to G.E. Pinard.

At the end of the jetty stands an arch with messages of welcome from the Dominica Guardian, the Voice of Dominica and the people of Dominica: 'Lovely weather and everything propitious for the reception which the good folk gave me. The Administrator, Mr. Young, and good old Porter came off to the ship and we all went ashore together. The harbour was full...

In the foreground is the Roseau River with fields planted out with lime trees beyond. The plantation is probably part of Rose and Company's Bath Estate. The company was established in Dominica in the 1860s by Laughlan Rose, a merchant from Leith, who apart from supplying limes to British ships, pioneered their use in soft drinks.
